Highlights from the first report on the Health and Homelessness Whole of Community System Response
The first comprehensive evaluation report on the Health and Homelessness Whole of Community System Response was published in September. It was prepared by the Centre for Research in Health Equity and Social Inclusion (CRHESI) at Western University. The report highlights the significant progress that London has made in helping people experiencing chronic homelessness access stable housing through the innovative Hubs model and highly supportive housing.

SoHo: From Vision to Village
London is experiencing a housing crisis, with affordable and supportive housing particularly hard to find – a fact that has been clear for some time, well before the pandemic.
When data from London Community Foundation’s Vital Signs report in 2015 pointed to an emerging shortage of affordable housing, our Board and committee members, staff, and partners started talking about ways to address the issue. We considered what we could accomplish by collaborating with a diverse range of partners, each bringing their unique strengths to the solution.

Behind the Scenes at Dreams Come True Music Studio
Dreams Come True Music Studio is an all-ages, all-abilities, musical theatre group that believes that anything is possible when you embrace diversity, promote acceptance, and celebrate people’s unique talents and abilities.
Following a grant to Dreams Come True from the Ken Fleet Conducting Scholarship Fund via the I Have Resolve Foundation in June, we were invited to see the group rehearsing for their upcoming performances of Frozen Jr at Siloam United Church, December 13.The group uses funds for all costs associated with performances and musicals, from licensing, music, costumes, props, sound, technology…the list goes on.

Community Vitality Update: London InterCommunity Health Centre
In 2024, London InterCommunity Health Centre’s “Women of the World” Childcare Provision project received a $63,000 Community Vitality Grant.The program supports the healthy integration of newcomer women as they navigate the challenges of settling in London. Recently, we received the following update that speaks to the impact the project is making.

Murado Murado – J. Allyn Taylor Award Winner 2025
Named in honour of London Community Foundation’s founder, the J. Allyn Taylor Community Service Award is presented to a grade 10-12 student who exhibits outstanding service to and is actively involved in leadership activities in their community. The recipient receives an award of $2,500 towards their post-secondary education and a $500 grant to a charity of their choice. This year, the award was given to Murado Murado, who shared more about his community work with us.
