LONDON, ON: The Paul Seed Fund, held at London Community Foundation, today announced grants totalling more than $235,000 to boost live music performances in London by creating connections and opportunities for musicians, venues, and audiences.The grants will support live music activities coordinated through the London Arts Council and the London Music Office over the next year.
“From the time I was born to the time my mom died, I’ve never known my mom to be without a pet, let alone a couple of species of pets. We had everything – dogs were a staple, she had 50-60 dogs in her lifetime, every one of them had been abandoned. We had a goose named Waddles that we would take to the beach with us. We had a tortoise that lived in our bathroom, and even a cockatoo, and these were stray or abandoned animals.”

LONDON, ON: The Health and Homelessness Fund for Change today announced $4.8 million in capital funding for Indwell to support the renovation of a century-old building in the Village SoHo community, which will create 96 new highly supportive housing apartments. The announcement was made this morning on the steps of the heritage building, Western University’s former medical school, at 346 South Street.

London, ON: The Health and Homelessness Fund for Change today announced $5 million in capital funding to Canadian Mental Health Association Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services (CMHA TVAMHS) to help create 115 new highly supportive housing apartments.
Chuck the Fire Truck, a children’s book authored by Ken McLarnon was self-published in 2024 with funds raised being donated to the Robb Family Trust, a donor-advised fund that supports many initiatives and organizations in and around London, particularly around the arts.

LONDON, ON: The ‘House of Hope’ highly supportive housing residence, operated by London Cares in partnership with London Health Sciences Centre, has received $845,560 from the Health and Homelessness Fund for Change. The contribution will fund essential wrap-around support services that enable formerly unhoused residents to remain housed.
Type Diabeat-It is dedicated to ensuring Black and People of Colour understand what it means to live with diabetes by offering education and support.
Much of their work revolves around food education, with classes and events about diet and cooking held regularly in community spaces. In 2024, they made significant progress on their Harvest Haven project, which tackles food insecurity among the community in London that Type Diabeat-It serves.

Named in honour of London Community Foundation’s founder, the J. Allyn Taylor Community Service Award is presented to a grade 10-12 student who exhibits outstanding service to and is actively involved in leadership activities in their community. The recipient receives an award of $2,500 towards their post-secondary education and a $500 grant to a charity of their choice. This year, the award was given to Nada Abdallah, who shared more about her community work with us.
