Musical Performances by Charitable Ensembles

Question: What types of organizations are eligible?
Answer:

Examples of registered charitable organizations that are eligible include:Choirs

• Concert bands
• Chamber ensembles
• Community orchestras
• Other musical performing groups

Question: Are non-profit organizations eligible if they are not registered charities?
Answer: No. Applicants must have registered charitable status to qualify.

Question: Are individuals eligible?
Answer: No. Applicants must have registered charitable status to qualify.

Question: Do performances need to take place in London, Ontario?
Answer: Yes. Funding is available only for performances held within the City of London.

Question: What costs can the grant support?
Answer: Funds can only be allocated toward the following expenses associated with the organization’s performances in the 12-month period from date of application approval:

• Venue
• Accompaniment
• Guest artist
• Guest conductor

Question: Can an organization apply for more than one performance?
Answer: Yes. There is no set limit on the number of events supported. However, the total funding available is capped at $5,000 per organization per year, and each application is reviewed based on available funding and program objectives.

Question: Will the grant funds be paid directly to our organization?
Answer: Yes. A grant will paid to the applicant organization via EFT or Cheque.

Question: What is required of us after the event?
Answer: Go to the application portal and complete the follow-up form to share some reflections and upload one or two pictures that capture the performance and overall feel of the event.

Question: What information is required in the application?
Answer: Applicants should be prepared to provide:

• Organization details
• Charitable registration number and name
• Event and performance details
• Proposed budget and expenses
• Information about artists and performers

Question: Why can’t I log into the application portal?
Answer: London Community Foundation has two funding application portals: one for grants only available to charities and qualified donees, and one for grants available to everyone. Use the Application link on the funding program page to ensure you’re applying through the correct portal. If your login credentials aren’t allowing you to log in to the portal, it is likely you have used the other portal in the past – please create a new account to access the application portal.
