London, ON – Homes For Heroes Foundation proudly announces a landmark $4 million gift from the Health and Homelessness Fund for Change, a transformational investment that accelerates development of the London Veteran Village by funding critical infrastructure, housing, and supportive services that will directly change lives.
Supports initiatives that benefit youth in London, Middlesex County, or the neighbouring First Nations.
Large, multi-year grants that support innovative or system-changing programs that have a transformative impact.
Allows qualified donees to share their for funding needs directly with London Community Foundation fundholders.
Presented to a student who exhibits outstanding service to and is actively involved in leadership activities in their community.
Recognizing the impact made by volunteers and their organizations who serve children and/or youth.
Social Impact Loans are large loans for affordable and supportive housing developers, registered charities, and social enterprises. These loans allow the Foundation’s unrestricted assets to create positive change in the community on a large scale.
The first comprehensive evaluation report on the Health and Homelessness Whole of Community System Response was published in September. It was prepared by the Centre for Research in Health Equity and Social Inclusion (CRHESI) at Western University. The report highlights the significant progress that London has made in helping people experiencing chronic homelessness access stable housing through the innovative Hubs model and highly supportive housing.

London is experiencing a housing crisis, with affordable and supportive housing particularly hard to find – a fact that has been clear for some time, well before the pandemic.
When data from London Community Foundation’s Vital Signs report in 2015 pointed to an emerging shortage of affordable housing, our Board and committee members, staff, and partners started talking about ways to address the issue. We considered what we could accomplish by collaborating with a diverse range of partners, each bringing their unique strengths to the solution.
