LONDON, ON: London Community Foundation, the City of London and London Cares Homeless Response Services are pleased to announce that House of Hope, a highly supportive housing residence operated by London Cares, will continue operations through the end of March 2027 following funding commitments from the Health and Homelessness Fund for Change and the City of London.
The Health and Homelessness Fund for Change has committed up to $1.3 million toward the extended operating period, building on the City of London’s previous $1.3 million investment, which maintained operations through November 2026.
The extension will ensure the 45 residents currently living at House of Hope remain housed while London Cares, the City of London, health care partners and housing providers continue developing individualized transition plans. The shared focus is identifying appropriate housing options for each resident while maintaining continuity of care, housing stability and access to the health and social supports they rely on.
House of Hope provides housing and 24-hour wraparound supports for people experiencing chronic homelessness with complex health, mental health and addiction care needs. Earlier this year, London Cares announced House of Hope would close following the end of its existing funding arrangement. Since that time, community partners have worked together to identify interim funding while continuing to plan for each resident’s next housing opportunity.

This extension gives us the most valuable resource we could ask for right now: time. Time to support every resident during this transition and time to continue working closely with our Government of Ontario partners, who understand the importance of replacing the supportive housing capacity and delivering those long-term spaces in London as quickly as possible.”
