Behind the Scenes at Dreams Come True Music Studio
Dreams Come True Music Studio is an all-ages, all-abilities, musical theatre group that believes that anything is possible when you embrace diversity, promote acceptance, and celebrate people’s unique talents and abilities.
Following a grant to Dreams Come True from the Ken Fleet Conducting Scholarship Fund via the I Have Resolve Foundation in June, we were invited to see the group rehearsing for their upcoming performances of Frozen Jr at Siloam United Church, December 13.The group uses funds for all costs associated with performances and musicals, from licensing, music, costumes, props, sound, technology…the list goes on.

Community Vitality Update: London InterCommunity Health Centre
In 2024, London InterCommunity Health Centre’s “Women of the World” Childcare Provision project received a $63,000 Community Vitality Grant.The program supports the healthy integration of newcomer women as they navigate the challenges of settling in London. Recently, we received the following update that speaks to the impact the project is making.

Murado Murado – J. Allyn Taylor Award Winner 2025
Named in honour of London Community Foundation’s founder, the J. Allyn Taylor Community Service Award is presented to a grade 10-12 student who exhibits outstanding service to and is actively involved in leadership activities in their community. The recipient receives an award of $2,500 towards their post-secondary education and a $500 grant to a charity of their choice. This year, the award was given to Murado Murado, who shared more about his community work with us.

Community Vitality Update: Building New Futures Together
Pathways Employment Help Centre and Chippewas of the Thames First Nation received a Community Vitality grant in 2022 to fund two years of the innovative Building New Futures Together project, which taught practical construction skills and resulted in new homes being built for community members. Three years on from the grant, people are now living in the homes built through the project.

Community Vitality 2025 – STEAM Education Centres Inc.
Grant Summary: This project works to offer hands-on employable skills for Indigenous students in the area of STEAM with a focus on AI, 3D Design, and Coding. This opportunity provides direct experience with these technology tools to Indigenous youth who will be able to build the confidence needed to reduce Indigenous inequity in STEAM-related career roles.

Community Vitality 2025 – Southwest Middlesex Health Centre
Grant Summary: This project improves the services that Southwest Middlesex Health Centre provides to Indigenous patients. It includes timely access to mental health supports and foot care, and ensures all staff are trained in culturally safe health care so that Indigenous patients feel respected, safe, and represented while receiving care.

Grant Summary: The Learn to Grow, Grow to Give Project combines food literacy/education and food security programming in innovative, efficient ways by growing and providing fresh, healthy foods for food-insecure families, while delivering equitable, accessible food education programming for children, families, and schools.
