The MacDonald-Pierce Foundation honours the late Hector MacDonald and Ronald Pierce, and embodies their shared values of integrity, stewardship and compassion.

Hector touched many lives before his passing in 2003. He spent almost 40 years working at 3M Canada, culminating in the position of Director, Product Development. He was primarily responsible for product acquisitions, which – when combined with his irreproachable business sense – launched many successful business lines.

Hector was also a member of the Rotary Club of London North for almost 30 years, where he was club president, a member of the board and a Paul Harris Fellow.

Hector’s son-in-law, Ronald Pierce, is remembered for his energy, optimism and strong work ethic. During his 17-year career at Kellogg Canada, Ron attained his degree in economics from Western University, resulting in his swift progression from a factory position to Shift Operations Manager. He shared his love for all things outdoors with his wife and two sons until his untimely death in 2004.

Today, Hector’s grandchildren are charged with researching and identifying the MacDonald-Pierce Foundation’s yearly grants, allocating funds to projects and initiatives that best serve individuals and families in the London-Middlesex community.
