Mies Bervoets Scholarship

The Mies Bervoets Scholarship is a program dedicated to supporting aspiring culinary professionals in their pursuit of excellence. Named in honour of the remarkable Mies Bervoets, the first female board member of the Canadian Federation of Chefs de Cuisine, this fund celebrates her outstanding work ethic and contagious passion for the culinary profession.
Designed to empower and inspire the next generation of culinary talents, the Mies Bervoets Scholarship offers financial assistance to individuals who display unwavering dedication, commitment, and merit in the fields of culinary or hospitality.
The scholarship will be for the following categories:
Mies Bervoets Scholarship Fund - Top First Year Culinary Management Program
This scholarship is for a student who completed their first year of the Culinary Management Program and is continuing into the Culinary Management – Level 3, who has completed their Co-op Placement with a September 2025 start date. The recipient will be selected from a combination of Fanshawe College marks, plus hospitality industry work/co-op experience, and community involvement. In case of a tie, the highest academic marks from the first year of the program will determine the successful candidate. To qualify for this scholarship, you need to be a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada.
Mies Bervoets Scholarship Fund - First Year Entry Student
This scholarship will be given to the applicant who is deemed the best student to enter this program in September 2025. The selection will be made from a combination of high grades, culinary experience/education, community involvement, and overall quality of their submission. If there is a tie, the applicant with the highest Grade 12 marks will be selected.
