Mies Bervoets Culinary Scholarship Fund

Mies Bervoets – Certified Chef de Cuisine

The Mies Bervoets Culinary Scholarship Fund has been created to promote and assist young, Canadian culinarians entering the exciting world of food and flavour. Mies was an inspiration and mentor to many in her field. As the Chef/Owner of London Ontario’s Miestro Restaurant for 15 years, she guided many new cooks towards reaching their potential.

Mies was the first woman elected to the National Executive of the Canadian Federation of Chefs de Cuisine. Through her trend-setting Asian fusion menus at Miestro, her catering creations, and her unique cooking classes, Mies was always excited and passionate about food, creating magical and inspiring dishes.

It is the hope of Mies’ family that this scholarship program will celebrate and pay tribute to her dedication to the exciting world of food, and will empower young chefs to follow in her footsteps.

Mies will always be remembered for her genuine smile, endless work ethic, and contagious energy, both in and out of the kitchen. She was passionate about her profession, treated it with respect, and led by example. Her contributions to the culinary industry, and her hours of volunteering, put her at the forefront of progressive change.
