Homes For Heroes Foundation Announces Transformational $4 Million Gift from Health and Homelessness Fund for Change
London Veteran Village aims to open late summer 2026
London, ON - Homes For Heroes Foundation proudly announces a landmark $4 million gift from the Health and Homelessness Fund for Change, a transformational investment that accelerates development of the London Veteran Village by funding critical infrastructure, housing, and supportive services that will directly change lives.
The London Veteran Village is designed to be a supportive, dignified community where Veterans can heal, rebuild, and thrive. To be built on the grounds of Parkwood Institute, the Village will include 25 homes, a resource centre, community gardens, and wraparound supports. Construction is expected to begin in March, with the opening in late summer 2026.
“This extraordinary $4 million gift is truly transformative for Homes For Heroes and for the Veterans we serve. It brings us significantly closer to realizing the London Veteran Village and, more importantly, to changing lives by providing safe, stable housing and a renewed sense of dignity, community, and hope,” says Brad Field, President & CEO, Homes For Heroes Foundation. “This investment will have a lasting impact, helping Veterans rebuild their lives, access critical supports, and move forward with purpose. We are deeply grateful to Fund for Change for their vision, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those who have served our country.”
For Veterans who have faced housing insecurity, trauma, or the challenges of reintegration, the London Veteran Village will provide a pathway forward, a safe, stable environment rooted in respect, community, and opportunity. Residents will have access to specialized supportive resources designed to foster independence, personal growth, and long-term success.
“Homes for Heroes is honoured and inspired by the remarkable $4 million contribution,” says Peter Devlin, Chair of the London H4H Steering Committee. “Through close coordination with London’s innovative health and homelessness initiatives, this investment will enable the delivery of comprehensive services and a housing solution at the London Veteran Village. We are creating a future where every Veteran has access to the care, stability, and dignity they deserve. We extend our deepest gratitude to the anonymous donor family who spearheaded the Fund for Change.”
Homes For Heroes Foundation remains committed to serving those who have served by creating sustainable housing solutions and supportive communities nationwide. The London Veteran Village stands as a powerful symbol of what is possible when vision, compassion, and partnership come together.
“With Veteran villages already open in other Canadian communities, we know this approach to homelessness is working,” says the anonymous Fund for Change donor. “Our family is honoured to be able to contribute to the London Veteran Village as a sustainable solution to our community’s health and homelessness crisis.”
