“Death is not a round table topic, but it’s better to be proactive than reactive, and if you want your life to have some meaning beyond the grave then this is the best way to do it. Unfortunately we’ve got two guarantees; death and taxes.”

Giving Through Your Will

What will your legacy be?

William James said that the greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it. London Community Foundation can help you fulfil your charitable dreams in a way that’s flexible and customized to you and the causes closest to your heart.

With a donation through your will, you can choose to create a fund in your name and your gift will be invested in perpetuity – the earnings of which are then used to drive community change, forever. You can establish your legacy by donating cash, appreciated securities, life insurance or other assets (with tax benefits). We’d be delighted to welcome you to the Lorraine Ivey Shuttleworth Society, recognizing those with the forethought and generosity to make a legacy gift (or you can remain anonymous).

We can work with your lawyer to insert this wording into your will:

(Your name/s) has made a bequest of (Insert % of estate or dollar value) to the London Community Foundation, Registered Charity # 10764 1953 RR0001. The Foundation, upon receipt of this bequest, shall direct the bequest to the capital of the (Fund Name).

You don’t need to be a millionaire to make a gift in your will. This is an incredibly meaningful gift to make – and we can walk you through it, no matter what you have to give. You can personalize your fund name or keep it anonymous and we will work with you to make sure we’re honouring your wishes forever.

We’re always happy to hear from you and provide further information. Please contact:
