Montessori Academy of London established its endowment fund in 2017 in recognition of the school’s 50th anniversary. Anyone – alumni, parents of alumni, and families and friends of Montessori Academy – can contribute to the fund to support greater access to traditional Montessori education in London, Ontario.

Donations to this fund directly support enrolled students by funding the financial aid program and ultimately the school’s long-term well-being.

Montessori Academy offers something unique and valuable to the London community: education choice. Specifically, high-quality, accredited Montessori education that puts the needs of the child first and teaches children the value of being confident, compassionate and engaged citizens. Montessori prepares children to study, work and thrive in the 21st century.

A Montessori education is not intended to be elitist or exclusive. Quite the opposite – it was the poorest children in Rome who first benefited from Dr. Maria Montessori’s groundbreaking approach to education and research in child development.

Ideally, every Ontario family would have the opportunity to choose the education that gives their child the best start in life, but because Montessori Academy doesn’t receive any government funding, its only option is a tuition-based model. While some families have no problem affording tuition each year, many make financial sacrifices to send their children to the school because they see the value in a traditional, accredited Montessori program.

Because of this, Montessori Academy offers current families, who have their child in the school for two consecutive years, access to financial aid through the Ann Marie Harding Financial Support Program. In 2017-2018, 29 students received support through this program.
