The Rainbow Youth Bursary Fund was created in 1997 to recognize leadership and community contribution among local high school students.
The fund’s yearly bursary is awarded to an individual whose leadership activities support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual and two-spirited people, their supporters, and any community group represented under the diverse Rainbow banner. This leadership can happen at home, at school, within the student’s religious institution, as part of their athletic or academic team, or in another social setting.
