Random Act of Kindness Day Takes Place November 13th

September 21, 2009 - Random acts of kindness are a wonderful way to reach out and touch the lives of others and make our world a better place.

Together with Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and North Dumfries communities, London Community Foundation is participating in an annual Random Act of Kindness Day. The day is earmarked to celebrate simple acts of kindness and remind us how natural it feels to do something nice for someone – not for reward, but because it feels good.

The second Friday of November was selected as Random Act of Kindness day, because it is the last Friday in Philanthropy Awareness Week.

“This day holds special significance as we understand that philanthropy, by its very essence, is the improvement in the quality and well-being of life.” Martha Powell, CEO, London Community Foundation.

We encourage you to participate simply by doing something nice and unexpected this Friday November 13th.

Demonstrate your commitment and call London Community Foundation for materials to use, or visit www.randomactofkindness.ca to download a poster and pay it forward cards.

The London Community Foundation improves the quality of life in London and Middlesex area, now and for generations to come, by building endowment, addressing needs through grant making, and providing leadership on key community issues.
