Nomination Deadline for J. Douglas Earthy Community Service Award, April 1, 2009
February 11, 2009 – London Community Foundation is pleased to publicize the following announcement on behalf of the Kiwanis Club of North London who established the J. Douglas Earthy Fund, a Fund within London Community Foundation.
During Volunteer Week in London (April 19-25), the Kiwanis Club of North London and the Earthy family will honour two volunteers to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the award.
Named in honour of the late Doug Earthy, a Kiwanian who devoted 46 years to serving his community, the award promotes and recognizes exemplary volunteer service. Registered charities are encouraged to participate by nominating one individual who has successfully completed a minimum of five years of distinguished volunteer service with their organization. An awards dinner will be held at the Highland Country Club on Thursday, April 23 at which time the work of the two selected volunteers and their respective charities will be celebrated. Each charity will receive $2500 to further its successful work in the community.
Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, April 1, 2009.
