(London ON) - Non-profit organizations play an important role in ensuring the vitality of our community. London Community Foundation’s Vital People award recognizes the individuals within these organizations who are taking initiative and demonstrating leadership every day. The award supports leaders in our community by investing in their success.

The Vital people program is now accepting nominations for non-profit staff members within a registered charitable organization* who demonstrate leadership in London and Middlesex County. The employee can be working at any staffing level – from the most junior to the most senior position. The nominee must have a passion for personal professional growth as well as the ability to apply their skills and knowledge to the benefit of the community.

Vital People will award grants up to $5,000 from the Foundation’s Community Fund, to registered charitable organizations. The grants will be used to support training and other development opportunities that will assist in building the recipient’s skills or knowledge, thus increasing their contributions to the community.

The application deadline for the 2011 program is Friday, October 14, 2011.
