Taghrid Hussain, CoordinatorTaghrid Hussain and her husband immigrated to Canada from Iraq in 2002, seeking a safe country and a better future for their children. Having to leave everything behind and establish a new life in a new country was very challenging but her passion for helping others and wanting to work closely with people motivated her greatly.

Today, Taghrid is the manager of the bail verification and supervision program at the John Howard Society of London, a not-for-profit, charitable organization providing a broad range of evidence-based and outcome-driven community services in London and District.

Taghrid is using her Vital People Grant towards her graduate degree in Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She is pursuing this education in the hopes that it leads to a senior management or executive director role with the John Howard Society.
