Fundraiser uses Vital People Grant to strengthen social media skill set

Jun. 15, 2012

Shelley RalfFundraising is more than a career for Shelley, it is a calling.

Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario is the regional voice of 9,000 people and their families living with Parkinson’s and its purpose is to ease their burden and find a cure.  As the Special Events Manager, Shelley’s job is to help to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s support services, education, advocacy, and research.

With her 2012 Vital People Grant, Shelley is taking a social media training course so as to learn more about building an effective social media plan that will strengthen her already strong relationship-building and networking skills and ensure success for the organization.

Says Shelley,

“The opportunity to develop strategies, relationships, and encourage community involvement in a meaningful cause such as Parkinson’s, is truly a joy for me and in this career I have found my strengths,”
