Jul. 27, 2015

On June 18, the Diane Y. Stewart Endowed Scholarship presented awards to 17 employees of London Health Sciences Centre for their commitment and dedication to London’s healthcare community. Diane Y. Stewart understood the importance of education and believed that “education changes how you look at the world.” She knew the personal and professional growth that transpires through education and she wanted to share this vision with others.

Diane was the former Executive Vice President of University Hospital, retiring in 1993. In recognition of her substantial contributions to the hospital, an endowed scholarship was established at the London Community Foundation, the Diane Y. Stewart Endowed Scholarship Award. This scholarship fund was established to provide financial assistance to support staff, throughout all programs and departments of London Health Sciences Centre, in education, which contributes toward professional development.

This year the committee received 32 worthy applications. The committee selected the following seventeen employees as recipients of the 2015 Diane Y. Stewart Endowed Scholarship Award; Sandra Arteaga, Jennifer Chettleburgh, Jared Dalton, Wendy Esson, Arielle Fuller, Jennifer Molloy, Tia Morin, April Mullen, Andrew Nemirovsky, Rachel Oegema, Ijeoma Onuoha, Nicholas Patterson, Tracy Robinson, Sean Smyth, Tammi Sturgeon, Samantha Tanner and Derek Truong.
