Youth committee ages. Looking for new members

Feb. 28, 2012

As happens with youth-led committees, many members of our Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) are getting older and moving on to new volunteer opportunities.

We believe some of the best experts regarding young people are young people themselves.

Inclusive. Forward-looking. Fair. Creative. Safe. Green. Fun. There’s no end of words to describe what we want our community and country to be. But there’s one word that sums it all up: Vital. The vitality of our communities, or community vitality, is something London Community Foundation cares about a great deal. Through the Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) Committee, volunteers use their insider knowledge of London’s community to help us decide which youth projects the Foundation will support.

This is a rare volunteer opportunity for youth between the ages of 13 to 18, to use their knowledge and experience in a meaningful decision-making role.

Interested? Please email your name to info [at] lcf [dot] on [dot] ca to state your interest in attending our next meeting which will be held on April 11, 2012. Learn more about what is involved in being on the Youth in Philanthropy Committee.

YiP grants are made possible by generous donors who established endowment funds at London Community Foundation designed to address youth issues and concerns.
