Sylvia Novak, a much loved music educator who taught and inspired hundreds of students over her 60-year career, left an unexpected legacy to London’s music teachers.

Upon her death in 2000, the London branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association received a bequest of almost $50,000 from her estate.

In keeping with her request, the local executive established a donor designated endowment fund at London Community Foundation, with the funds earnings to benefit local music teachers and students.
