Making Moves, Making a Difference: New Social Enterprise Supports Community Building Initiatives

Apr. 19, 2017

Earmark LaunchWhat do you get when you pair real estate with social impact? Earmark: a new social enterprise founded by Marla Marnoch that allows clients to “earmark” 20% of their realtor’s commission for donation to a community building initiative.

London Community Foundation is proud to announce that Back to the River has been selected by Marla as one of several change makers that will be supported through this social impact real estate initiative.

Earmark is an initiative of Marla Marnoch- Sales Representative at STREETCITY REALTY Brokerage Inc. – a long time entrepreneur and community developer turned Realtor. Earmark is a social enterprise that uses revenue earned from real estate commissions to invest in the fabric of our neighbourhoods by supporting the work of champion “change makers”.

The Earmark Initiative strategically targets 3 key areas of community impact:

  • Building great neighbourhoods
  • Supporting local entrepreneurship
  • Fostering a vibrant, caring city

Making an impact is as simple as deciding to work with Earmark, selecting the change maker you’d like to support, and enjoying a great real estate experience. When everything is all said and done, meet your change maker, hand over the cheque, and feel good about making a difference in our community.

At its core, Back to the River is a community initiative. Thanks to supporters, like Marla, we are one step closer to bringing Londoners back to the beloved Thames River. Through this initiative, Earmark is contributing to transformative community change that will impact London for years to come.

We truly believe that Back to the River has the power to catalyze community change, creating an enhanced sense of pride and belonging for everyone in our community. We are thrilled to be a part of this innovative initiative and commend Marla for her commitment to our community.”- Martha Powell, President & CEO, London Community Foundation
