I have been involved with London Community Foundation for 20 years. Whether it be as a committee or board member, or opening our own family fund, there is good reason why I have been, and continue to be, a big supporter of the Foundation.

Early in my professional career I wanted to become more connected to my community, so I started volunteering with the Foundation as a Grants Committee member, as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Since getting involved, I was introduced to many different and talented people and mentors. Being a member of the board and various committees as a young professional taught me invaluable leadership skills that helped me in my career.

I am inspired by our community and learning about the interesting things people are doing to make a positive impact in someone’s life.

My current volunteer role with the Foundation is with the Social Finance Committee. I am delighted with the leadership that the Foundation has taken to allocate a portion of their investments towards impact investing and by leading investment consortiums for affordable housing that has leveraged millions for impactful housing projects. The Foundation has also been a collaborator of my work with VERGE, a local initiative to create impact through investment.

Coming from a finance background, I love that I get to work collectively with the Foundation and other community groups to leverage and empower local social entrepreneurs through impact investing initiatives. We share the same passion for local businesses, with social and environmental goals in mind.
